Apple Rumored to Expand “Ultra” Lineup in 2026 With Premium New Devices

Apple may be preparing one of its boldest product expansions in years, with rumors pointing to four new “Ultra”-branded devices arriving later in 2026. Instead of replacing its existing lineup, Apple is reportedly building a separate tier of ultra-premium products designed to sit above current models.

That strategy could give Apple a way to push cutting-edge technology into the market without forcing mainstream buyers into higher prices or supply-limited hardware.

“Apple seems to be creating a true luxury-performance lane inside its ecosystem,” said Adam Nash of 911Reviews. “This is not just about making devices faster. It looks like Apple wants ‘Ultra’ to mean a major jump in design, display technology, AI integration, and overall experience.”

MacBook Ultra Could Introduce a Major Redesign

Among the most talked-about rumored products is the MacBook Ultra, which is expected to feature a thinner and lighter design than today’s MacBook Pro models. Reports suggest Apple could introduce a Tandem OLED display, a technology that stacks two OLED panels to improve brightness and help reduce burn-in issues.

The rumored laptop may also bring a touchscreen interface to the Mac for the first time, alongside a redesigned version of macOS built to better support touch input. Another reported change is the use of a Dynamic Island-style cutout in place of the current notch.

Under the hood, the MacBook Ultra is expected to use Apple’s next-generation 2nm M6 chips, though supply constraints may keep Apple selling current M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models alongside it.

“If this rumor is accurate, the MacBook Ultra could be one of the most important Mac redesigns in years,” Nash said. “A thinner body, Tandem OLED, and touch support would instantly make it feel like a new class of Apple laptop.”

iPhone Ultra Rumors Point to Foldable Future

Apple’s long-rumored foldable phone may finally arrive under the name iPhone Ultra. The rumored device would reportedly feature a titanium chassis, a 5.3-inch outer display, and a 7.7-inch inner display, giving users a wider format for media and multitasking.

The device is said to be powered by Apple’s 2nm A20 Pro chip and a C2 cellular modem. However, there may be trade-offs. Rumors suggest the foldable iPhone could ship without Face ID or MagSafe, instead relying on Touch ID while Apple continues working through engineering challenges tied to a nearly crease-free folding display.

“A foldable iPhone has the potential to be a game changer, but only if Apple gets the details right,” Nash said. “People will expect the polish of an iPhone and the wow factor of a foldable in the same device.”

AirPods Ultra Could Push Apple Deeper Into AI Wearables

The rumored AirPods Ultra may represent one of Apple’s most futuristic moves. These earbuds are expected to serve as Apple’s first dedicated AI wearable, going beyond traditional audio features.

According to the rumors, each earbud could include a tiny infrared camera capable of reading the user’s surroundings, enabling in-air gesture controls. The device is also expected to work closely with Siri 2.0 and broader Apple Intelligence features, potentially giving Apple a real-world testing ground for AI-driven wearable interactions ahead of future smart glasses.

“This could be the sleeper hit of the group,” Nash said. “If Apple turns AirPods into a true AI interface, that changes the role of earbuds from audio accessories into smart companions.”

Apple Watch Ultra 4 May Refine the Formula

The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is rumored to focus more on refinement than reinvention, with improved health sensors, possible changes to the external casing, and a long-rumored magnetic band system.

Other reported upgrades include Touch ID and a new S12 chip, which could improve both efficiency and processing performance.

“The Apple Watch Ultra already has a strong identity,” Nash said. “If Apple sharpens the health tracking, battery efficiency, and usability, the Ultra 4 could become an even more compelling tool for serious users.”

Premium Strategy, Premium Prices

The rumored rollout suggests Apple is embracing a two-track strategy: continue selling mainstream and pro-level devices while introducing a higher-end Ultra tier for buyers willing to pay for the latest innovations. That may be especially important if next-generation 2nm chips remain expensive and hard to produce at scale.

If the rumors prove accurate, many of these devices could debut during Apple’s September 2026 product event season.

“Apple appears to be thinking beyond simple upgrades,” Nash said. “The company may be building an entirely new premium category, and if these products arrive as rumored, 2026 could be one of the most ambitious Apple years we’ve seen in a long time.”
